Our Vacation

Hey Goosey!

We went on the most wonderful vacation in December. Auntie Kelly joined us in Orlando, Fl at Universal Studios. You had such a great time on the rides you were big enough to ride and you certainly enjoyed all the yummy treats that we don’t normally get at home. Universal Studios may be geared towards kids a little older than you and adults, but there was still plenty for you to do too. We rode rides and saw dinosaurs hatch and ate in a wizard restaurant and met the Grinch, watching you enjoy is even more fun than enjoying for myself.

Day 1- Dec 13
You, Auntie Kelly, and I had a looooong day of traveling our first night of vacay. After we landed at MCO, we went to get the rental, check in to the hotel, then we drove out to see Tiffanie, Jeremy, and their new baby, Caleb. Olive Garden for dinner and Caleb for dessert! He is so adorable!! You were excited to see the baby, even if he did get more attention than you for a bit. After our dinner we went back to the airport (in that awful, baby-poop-gold mustang) to pick up Daddy. He had to stay in SA later because he had an exam to take at school.

Day 2- Dec 14
Daddy and I started off the morning very early so we could squeeze in the meeting we had to go. You and Auntie K slept in and got breakfast while you waited and then it was off for our Universal Studios Florida day. We didn't start out the best way, the first thing we did was see Terminator 2: 3D. You freaked out. I've never heard you scream that way, I felt so bad that you were so scared. You sat in my lap and chanted "I want to go home" for most of the show. After it was over, you were a little gun-shy for all the rest of the rides that day. You perked up quick after the ET Adventure. It was "so awesome" that ET said our names when we were getting off the ride, huh? You and I got to play in Fivel's Playland & Woody Woodpecker's Kid Zone while Daddy and Auntie K went to ride all the yucky gross rides (the ones you aren't quite big enough for). Though, make sure you give Mommy some credit, I did ride Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coater with you. We made sure to go ride JAWS for Auntie K, and you got some cool pics with the big shark. When the parked closed for the night, we walked around the Universal Studios City Walk for a bit, but it was FREEZING so we left. We did stop at an outlet mall so your Daddy could buy a hat and a long sleeve shirt since he didn't think it would be as cold as it was. A quick dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings and then off to bed we went.
Time to Play!

Day 3-Dec 15
Day three got off to an even rougher start than day two. Mommy lost the tickets between the car and the front gate and we got a late start trying to track them down and get in. Day three was Universal Studios Island's of Adventure!! Mommy was so excited to go and see The Wizarding World of Harry Potter! I was so upset when I lost the tickets, but Daddy and Auntie K found them and saved the day. Once things were back on track we hit the park running. You and I went to play at Suess Landing while we waited for Daddy and Auntie Kelly to finish with most of the yucky rides. It was so much fun, Goosie! We rode the Cat in the Hat ride, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, the Caro-Suess-el, and even met some Who's from Who-ville. After all that Suess fun, we saw the live action The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. It was a great show and you weren't even scared of the Grinch! Next was lunch time at the Three Broomsticks in WWHP. Yummy! The Butterbeer was great, but you didn't seem to like it as much. Now, WWHP was much more for me and Daddy than it was for you. You haven't seen most of the movies and some of the scenes are a little grownup and scary for you, but the books and movies are some of Mommy's absolute favorites. You had fun on some of the rides, but mostly you took that time to nap off lunch. After some Wizard time, we moved on the Jurassic Park. After Mommy got tricked into riding one of those yucky rides I keep mentioning, you woke up and got to see some dinosaurs! We even watched a baby velociraptor hatch from her egg and a BIG triceratops go to the vet for her allergies. At the end of the day we went back to Hogwarts so Mommy could ride that ride and get some souvenirs then we went on our very last ride: The High in the Sky Trolley Train Ride. We did squeeze in dinner at the Bubba Gump Shrimp restaurant before we left.

Day 4- Dec 16
Time to go home. We had an eventful lunch at The Perkins' Family Restaurant then off to the airport. You and Daddy went home on an earlier plane than Auntie Kelly and I. Thank you for coming to pick us up at the airport that night when we flew in!

I know you will have wonderful memories from our trips, enjoy all the pictures. I love you.

Happy Birthday Baby!

December 10, 2010

Hey Goose,

You are four years old already!! When did this happen? When did you grow from my little baby to the beautiful, charming, smart, young lady you are now? You come up with some of the coolest, craziest things every day.  I want you to stay young and small forever, but at the same time I look forward to meeting the wonderful, intelligent, stunning woman I know you will be someday. Happy Birthday Isabella!

Already bouncing at 9am
We had a party for you on your actual birthday, isn’t it great when your birthday falls on a Friday or Saturday? Daddy and I started the day very early, especially Daddy. He got up at 6am (!!) to make sure everything would be ready for the party. He cleaned up the backyard and started decorating before we even woke up. He loves you so much. We rented a bouncy castle for the party too. I think that may have been your favorite part of the day since you still talk about it all the time. You were the first one inside as soon as it was set up! I’m glad you got to play in it all day, which left me free to finish baking all the treats for your baking bash.  You asked me for a purple cake so I made “Isabella’s Purple Velvet Cake” for you as well as brownies, chocolate cupcakes, and vanilla cupcakes for everyone to enjoy. Grandma Nettie and Joe made yummy burgers and hot dogs and Grandma Terry and Grandpa Frank made potato salad and queso…everything was delicious. Apollo thought so too since he sneaked a taste of almost everything on the menu.

You had such a great time with your friends and cousins: y’all bounced in the bouncy castle, fought for candy from the piƱata, Uncle Robert even painted faces. You, Evey, and Mia got your girl power on and teamed up against Gabriel in the bouncy castle. It was so cute! I think everyone who came had a great time celebrating with you. And, oh my, you are one very special little girl for so many people to love you so much. You received so many fantastic presents from your friends and family, gifts I know you will treasure for a long time to come. Here's some extra pictures from your special day:
